"By the Silver Towers and the Ever-Burning Eye, begone!" (from "Battle for the Abyss" by B. Counter)
This is an upgrade of my old artwork "For Prospero". Since that artwork is still quite popular I decided to improve it.
In 2008 during a work with the older version I dreamed to read about a person (Uthizzar) I've been painting and about the Council of Nikaea. At that time my only source of information was "Horus Heresy Collected Visions" artbook (it's still one of my favourite books). The dream came true after 2 years. At the end of 2010 I got my copy of "A Thousand Sons" by G. McNeill. I still read it not allowing myself to devour it in one week. Good book like a good wine must be read little by little, I guess. Especially this one. I really liked how Mr. McNeill portraited Uthizzar, Ahriman and others (damn, those captains of the Thousand Sons are outstanding!). And the whole story is like a spell - as if you are there, standing near Ahriman through all events, thinking and trying to understand who is right and who is wrong. Great feeling, must admit. And I'm very happy there are about 200 pages left to read.
All rights belong to Games Workshop (err.. guys, what about pre-Heresy Thousand Sons miniatures?)
Great work!
Along with the First Heretic and Legion, ATS is the best Heresy BL book for me.
Loving the look here of the Sons!
