I like airbrushing and Painter's brushes - they are much more suitable for painting, in my opinion. Also Painter is a cool simulation of various technics - Photoshop doesn't have such features. Another very cool Painter's feature is a colour wheel. It's possible to add special colour wheel in Photoshop CS4 but CS5 doesn't have such option yet. But Photoshop rocks when you have to add effects or to work with layers.
Thats of course true In the books he is only described very big and wearing a very huge armour. Thats why I only wanted to tell you But of course, it you just draw it as your interpretation without an intention to be true to his original concept, than it is all ok
There is one big mistake in this my picture - Calgar wears the Gauntlets of Ultramar which are bigger than those I drew. By the way there are several concepts of Marneus Calgar: arts of Karl Kopinski, an art from early editions ([link] - unlike GW miniature he wears simple armour not that of terminator), two or three miniatures (one of Games Workshop and other are nice conversions). So... there is a vast scope for imagination especially because Games Workshop haven't told us yet which appearance of Calgar or other characters is canonical. Though.. if I draw him again (this picture was drawn almost two years ago) I'll draw bigger armour from the miniature.
Interesting how, Lord Macragge's features follow the same pattern as Primarch Guilliman...Please don't get me wrong, Noldo, your drawings of my beloved Space Marines are wondrous, and truly a great tribute to them, but the gauntlets of Ultramar...they are missing their bolters...wait, scratch that. The bolters can be readily removed from the gauntlets...no complaint, I deeply apologize. XD
