The Doomsday of Calth by Noldofinve The Doomsday of Calth by Noldofinve
I finished to read "Know No Fear" by D. Abnett. Actually, the only way I can express my impressions is to draw. Since I lack proper words.

"Ventanus takes the vox-horn.
'This is Ventanus, Captain, 4th', he begins. 'I am making an emergency broadcast on the global vox-cast setting. The surface of Calth is no longer a safe environment...'

'So what do we do?' asks Tawren.
'We keep fighting, Ventanus tells her. 'That's what we always do'. " ("Know No Fear" by D. Abnett)

This book puts awesome back in Ultramarines.
Seriously, I was thoroughly impressed. Dan Abnett made a magnificient piece of work, merging all the action and badass with incredibly emotional pieces. My favourite author, my favourite book.
I would really like to see Your version of Magos Meer Edv Tawren and Server Uhl Kehal Hesst. I least expected to see a love subplot develop in Mechanicum, but Dan put it so naturally, showing that there is humanity in places we least expect. It was like a fresh breath of air for the usual robo-freaks. Abnett can really give a look from different perspective on different aspects of 40k. This is why his novels are so awesome.

Meer is an interesting character. Some years ago I thought about drawing of her. May be after a war I'll return to that thought.

Know No Fear is my favourite volume of the Horus Heresy so far.  I've read it three times.  ;)

I'd be curious of what differences might manifest in the different translations.

For example, plays on words are often lost due to difference of languages. Sometimes emotional contest is lost. Some translated titles sound very strangely.

Oh, by the way, if you like Know no Fear, make sure to read Graham McNeill's Ultramarines series, especially the 6th (last) book: The Chapter's Due. You won't be disappointed.

Holy crap man D: Listening to Conquest of Spaces by Woodkid and for some reason the chorus just fit this painting!

Really emotional on its own too! Space Marines don't show much emotions but you can just see the anguish in his eyes! D:

Ventanus brings the blade of the standard shaft down through the visor slot with both hands, driving it and turning it and screwing it, until it meets the inside back of the armoured helmet. Blood wells out over the eye slits and gorget lip, and runs down the sides of the helmet to mat the horsehair broom of the crest.
(...)
'That's why,' he says.
'What?' asks Selaton.
'That's why I brought this,' Ventanus replies raising the bloody standard.
