Let me fight

Description

At last I managed to finish it. For my friend HC II-X. :)
This is quite liberal and rather non-canonical handling of well-known events from Horus Heresy. Sanguinius asks his father-Emperor to let him fight by his side with the traitor Horus. The Emperor hesitates because Sanguinius is tired and wounded after a battle with Chaos Daemon.
Another my friend PEK wrote beautiful poems for this picture. Sadly they're in Russian and I can't translate them properly. :(

Bigger fragment of the work you can see here: [link]

Used media: Painter 8, Photoshop 7 and a lot of music. ))

And I proudly represent an English version of this beautiful poem, made by it' author.

"What for, my Lord? Just… Why, my father? You’re going straight into the trap!
Horus awaits. The path is opened, but…
- Yes. I come; he’ll close the gates…
As only so, in face to face, he thinks he’ll truly win this battle,
And only so I can forgive him for the dream that die unsettled.
- Then, father, let me stand with you! Shoulder to shoulder!
I will repay this dream by blood…
- And blood will never be prayed over…
He rose his head and sent his sight into the very depths of time.
The walls were trembling. Outside
The howling death was gathering all in the last unending rhyme.
- Sangvinius! You’ll go with me! Prepare your marines!
And painful whisper was not heard:
- Be blessed, my son. And please forgive…
I wish I could be better father…
I’m not, by any means." (c) Pavel Kondrashov.

What i thought when i saw the image and the titel was, that this is "contemporary" and that the Ghost of Sanguinius is begging the Emperor to be brought back (proberbly set after Devastation of Baal).
